ROCKINGHAM – Clint Wood of Wendell and Colby Marshburn of Clinton were the Super Pro and Pro bracket winners in Sunday’s VWs at the Rock all-Volkswagen drag race and car show at Rockingham Dragway.

Wood drove his 1964 VW Bug past the Dune Buggy of Larry Heglen of Lancaster, South Carolina, in the Super Pro final after winning the closest race of the day in the semis. In that semifinal race, Wood got to the finish .001 of a second ahead of Corbitt Marshburn in a race too close to call with the naked eye.

Back at the Rock for the first time since 2010, the event drew more than 65 show cars along with a wide variety of racing VWs.

Other Sunday winners were Pat Young of Danville, Virginia, in the Draggin’ Booties class and Dunn’s Thurman Warren Jr. in the Trophy class.
