ROCKINGHAM — In this ROSports exclusive interview, Richmond Senior High School head football coach Bryan Till sat down with sports editor Kyle Pillar to discuss the Raiders’ third-round playoff game against Myers Park High School.

It’s been nearly a year, 360 days to be exact, since the Raiders and the Mustangs met in Rockingham under identical playoff circumstances. Unfortunately for Richmond, it would suffer a 37-14 loss to Myers Park and see its 2018 season come to an end.

But Till is a believer that all things happen for a reason, so fast forward to this week and the Raiders preparing for a shot at redemption against head coach Scott Chadwick and the Mustangs.

There is a lot of pride surging through the Richmond County community, apparent by the number of businesses decorated in kelly green and gold. Raider diamond decals are plastered on car windows, ball caps, sweatshirts -- and the pride carries a little more weight this year.

But no one is prouder of the team and what it’s accomplished through its 12 games this season than Till.

In what will be a battle of unbeatens, Till discusses this year’s Raiders, a team one year older and more battle tested than ever to face Myers Park -- and this time hopefully advance to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s 4AA semifinal round.

And one step closer to the program’s eighth state title.
