ROCKINGHAM — It’s becoming the norm this fall for Richmond County football fans to make arrangements to get their playoff tickets ahead of kickoff.

That’s the case for the third consecutive week as the No. 1 seeded Raiders prepare for their first 4AA West regional championship appearance since 2008, the last time Richmond won a state championship.

Per the football team’s Twitter account, pre-sale tickets were available at local businesses starting at noon on Monday.

No. 1 Richmond will host No. 10 Vance High School, which is the reigning 4AA West regional champion, on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

During the Raiders’ third-round win over No. 4 Myers Park High School, an approximate 9,000 fans filled Raider Stadium. Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets ahead of time, but tickets will still be sold at the gate prior to the game, according to school administrators.

In what will be just the fourth meeting between the Raiders and Cougars since 2004, and the first time the teams have met in the playoffs, a trip to the 4AA state championship at UNC’s Kenan Stadium will be on the line.

Per the North Carolina High School Athletic Association and its playoff ticket rules, tickets have increased to $10 per seat. No booster passes will be accepted at the gate. Reserved seat holders will still be able to access their seats, but must buy a ticket for entrance to the game.

Tickets can be purchased at Richmond’s front office, as well as local pharmacies, including Family Pharmacy and Medical Center Pharmacy in Rockingham, Ellerbe Pharmacy and Mabry’s Drug and Home Care in Hamlet.

Also for the regional championship, digital tickets can be purchased using GoFan. Click here to purchase digital tickets, which can be redeemed using mobile phones (can't be printed).

Since its success continues, Raider Tailgating will be hosting another pre-game tailgate. The event, which will be held along the access road to the field house, is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. and will feature food and a DJ.

ROSports will publish a complete game preview between the Raiders (13-0) and Cougars (11-2) later this week and provide other regional championship coverage.
