Wallace appointed to RichmondCC Board of Trustees by Cooper

RALEIGH — Robert L. Wallace is one of several statewide appointments announced Monday by Gov. Roy Cooper.

Wallace has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for Richmond Community College.

According to the governor’s office, Wallace, of Rockingham, is the early intervention services supervisor for the Sandhills Children’s Development Service Agency, and is a radio announcer for WJSG (104.3 FM).

He also serves as secretary-treasurer of Samaritan Colony Addiction Treatment Center and serves on the Scotland County Partnership for Children Advisory Board.

Wallace replaces Jerry Austin as the governor’s appointee. Austin was re-appointed by the Richmond County Board of Commissioners to fill the vacancy left by Jennifer Greene.

Greene’s term expired and she did not choose to be reappointed, according to RichmondCC officials.

The governor also appointed Donna L. Davis of Ansonville as the Environmental Management Commission representative.

Davis retired in 2018 after more than 16 years as the utilities director for Stanly County, according to the governor’s office. Davis was appointed to the Environmental Management Commission in 2019.
