ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond Senior High School girls’ tennis team experienced an unfortunate deja vu on Thursday, falling for the second time in as many days against a Sandhills Athletic Conference opponent.

FAYETTEVILLE — A strong first half of play from the Raider soccer team on Thursday was undone by four second-half goals by Terry Sanford High School.

LAURINBURG — In what proved to be an intense match that saw two of the top three volleyball teams in the Sandhills Athletic Conference duke it out, Thursday’s outcome wasn’t what the Lady Raiders wanted.

RICHMOND COUNTY — As the first week of local middle school sports wraps, two volleyball teams continued perfect starts to their respective seasons. Also, the middle school golf season got underway on Tuesday.

ROCKINGHAM — It was another short night for the Lady Raiders as they swept their second opponent in as many nights and extended their winning streak to five games.

ROCKINGHAM — A burst of momentum from the right foot of senior Drew Davis gave the Raider soccer team some late life during Wednesday’s Sandhills Athletic Conference match at home against Lumberton High School.

Lady Raiders fall short at SAC-leading Pinecrest

SOUTHERN PINES — After getting their first taste of victory against Purnell Swett High School on Tuesday, the Lady Raider tennis team put forth another effort to try and upset the current Sandhills Athletic Conference leader on Wednesday.

ROCKINGHAM — Airel Brown, a senior on the Richmond Senior High School girls’ cross country team, has been named the Week 4 Official Richmond County Female Athlete of the Week presented by Moss Brothers Tire and Service.

ROCKINGHAM — With the first third of the 2019 football season in the books, Raider head coach Bryan Till is positive the best is still yet to come for his team and Richmond fans.

LUMBERTON — The cross country trail at Luther Britt Park saw action for the second straight week as four Sandhills Athletic Conference schools met in Lumberton on Tuesday.
