Raiders suffer shut out loss to Union Pines

ROCKINGHAM — The wear of playing overtime on Wednesday and another full match on Thursday caught up with the Richmond Raiders in their match against Union Pines High School.

LAURINBURG — Nearly 120 runners from five schools met at the James L. Morgan Recreation Complex on Wednesday to compete in the Sandhills Athletic Conference championship cross country meet. 

ROCKINGHAM — Eighty minutes wasn’t enough time for the Richmond Raider soccer team against rival Scotland High School during Wednesday’s Sandhills Athletic Conference match.

ROCKINGHAM — Junior football player Frazion Steele has been named the Official Richmond County Male Athlete of the Week presented by HWY 55.

ROCKINGHAM — Junior volleyball player Catherine Dennis has been named the Official Richmond County Female Athlete of the Week presented by HWY 55.

CAMERON — Not going down without a tough fight, the Lady Raider volleyball team’s season came to an end during the first round of the Sandhills Athletic Conference tournament on Monday.

ROCKINGHAM — A defensive effort that forced four interceptions and shut down the top passer in the Sandhills Athletic Conference helped the Richmond Raiders to their sixth straight win on Saturday.

ROCKINGHAM — A balanced diet of running and passing the football, four positive turnovers and a fast start in the opening two quarters, helped the Richmond Raiders sting Lee County High School during Saturday’s conference meeting.
