Accident Report: Four Sent to Local Hospital Following Highway 38 Crash

HAMLET – Emergency crews were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 38 South Tuesday afternoon where it intersects with Baltimore Drive.

The two vehicles involved were a white GMC SUV and a red Pontiac Firebird. According to an eye witness’ statement to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the “white vehicle struck the other vehicle (Firebird) in the rear as it was making a left turn into a driveway.”

All three occupants in the Pontiac were transported to the hospital, as well as the driver of the GMC. There has been no update on any of the persons involved statuses.

Agencies responding to the accident were Hamlet Fire Rescue, FirstHealth Richmond EMS and the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The accident is being investigated by the Highway Patrol. The RO will report on any updates as they become available.
