ROCKINGHAM — Three local musical acts will be taking the stage at VFW Post 4203 for the annual Rockin’ for Veterans concert.
Hard rock cover band Aftermath will be headlining for the second time —the first time being in 2022 — and playing for the third time.
The other two acts are Vagabond and Ducky Medlock.
Three members of Vagabond have previously performed the benefit show with other bands: guitarist/vocalist John Baker with The Way She Goes; bassist/vocalist Patrick Razon with The Safety Committee; and drummer Anakin White, along with Baker and Razon, with The Ponder Project.
John Baker, currently with Vagabond, plays guitar for the Ponder Project during Rockin' for Veterans in 2021.

Although Medlock’s trio, which also includes guitarist Charles Trotter and drummer Alan Lansburg, hasn’t been an act at Rockin’ for Veterans, they are no strangers to performing around Richmond County.
The show is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Sept. 27, with admission being a $10 donation at the door.
Rockin’ for Veterans was started by VFW Post 4203 Auxiliary in 2016 as a fundraiser to send care packages to local military personnel serving overseas. The concert has been held every year since, except for 2020 and 2023.
Auxiliary President Robin Roberts posted Monday that the members of the 1o5th Engineer Battalion of the N.C. National Guard received their packages that were boxed up in late June.
“They sent a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped send them a little piece of home,” Roberts said. “Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
Ducky Medlock performs on the new stage at Rockingham Dragway in April.
