“CLASSROOM CREDITS” WITH ANAYJAH DUMAS
While adding up the points is a big part of Dumas’ track and field career, she’s made it her top priority to remain focused in the classroom.
A dual enrollment student at Richmond and Richmond Community College, Dumas balances the workload of school and sports for two-thirds of the school year as a student-athlete. She ran indoor track and field and also served as the girls’ basketball team’s manager.
This past fall, Dumas made the A Honor Roll with high marks in all of her classes. She earned a 99 in English IV Honors, a 97 in Weight Training Honors and a 94 in Spanish II. In her lone RichmondCC course, Math 143, Dumas had a 90.
Nearing the midway point of her final semester of high school, Dumas is taking three classes at Richmond this spring. She currently has all As in Economics and Personal Finance Honors, Health Science II Honors and Junior Leadership Honors.
At RichmondCC, Dumas is working on earning college credit in English 111. Ranked in the top 75 of her graduating class, Dumas has a 3.964 weighted grade point average.
After high school, Dumas plans to attend a four-year university and earn her degree in nursing.

Richmond’s boys’ and girls’ track and field teams opened the season with meets last Thursday and Saturday.
