HIGH POINT — Minister Arthur Lee Byrd Sr., 79, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2021 at Meridian Nursing Center, High Point.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1 p.m. at St. Luke Freewill Baptist Church, Ellerbe with Dr. Lester Floyd officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Chandler Byrd of the home; a son; Arthur L. Byrd Jr. (Tonia) of High Point; Arketa Fairley (Larry) of Jamestown; three grandchildren, Alexis Byrd, Kayla Bostic and Andrew Byrd; brothers and sisters, John Henry McLean of Maryland, Fred Byrd (Maxine) of Atlanta, Georgia, Frank Byrd (Edna) of Durham, Virginia-Ann Hill (Ernest) of Delaware, and Donald Byrd (Hazel) of Atlanta, Georgia.
