ROCKINGHAM — A cyclist was sent to the hospital early Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a car at a major intersection.
According to the Rockingham Police Department, an individual on a bicycle was crossing the intersection of U.S. 1 and U.S. 74 Business around 12:45 p.m. July 29 when the collission occured.
Police say the cyclist was traveling north and the vehicle — which had the right of way — was traveling west.
The cyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police say.
