HAMLET - As "continued unsafe conditions" persist on many of Richmond County's roads, Richmond County Schools Superintendent Dr. Cindy Goodman announced Sunday that all RCS schools will be closed for students on Monday, January 8.
In a tweet Goodman posted shortly before 4 p.m., she noted that the district will be operating on a two-hour delay for faculty and staff. According to Goodman, it's an optional teacher workday.
This is the third consecutive school day (which includes Thursday and Friday last week) that RCS students will not be in classrooms as a result from Winter Storm Grayson. Students were also released early on Wednesday in anticipation of the storm.
The RO will continue to monitor RCS' situation and report on future closings, delays and openings.
RCC to Operate on Regular Schedule Monday
According to a Facebook post, RCC will operate on regular campus hours Monday. Campus hours will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Students who need to schedule for Spring Semester, or who need to make changes, due to the winter weather related closings, are encouraged to visit or call Student Services Monday at 910-410-1730.
