ELLERBE — Carl Kenneth Greer, 93, of Ellerbe, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Kenneth was born Jan. 5, 1928 in Alamogordo, New Mexico, a son of the late Carl Houston and Delphia Evelene Ivanes Greer.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy for 10 ½ years and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 12 years of service. He was a member of Ellerbe Fellowship Baptist Church where he was a faithful member and Sunday School teacher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Murrey Greer; and siblings, Doris Cates, Betty Thompson, Dwight Greer and Elizabeth Shuffield.
Surviving are his children, Gunner Greer, Paula Greer, Carlton Greer, Perry Greer and Candace Jacobson; nine grandchildren; and sisters, Mayme Greer, Charlotte Carriker and Charlene Fletcher.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Carriker home. Please keep social distancing in mind and wear a face covering. Those attending are welcome to bring a lawn chair.
