ROCKINGHAM — A Chatham County woman is accused of stealing a company credit card and making multiple purchases.
Brittany Leann Colonello, 30, of Bear Creek, allegedly took a credit card issued to Richardson Thermal Control in Derby last month and made purchases on Sept. 20, 21, 23, 27 and 29, as well as Oct. 2 and 12.
Those purchases exceeded $500, according to a warrant issued to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 16, charging Colonello with one felony count each of financial card theft and financial card fraud.
She was arrested the following day and was booked into the Richmond County Jail on Oct. 19, where she is being held on a $10,000 secured bond. Colonello is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 28.
Online court records show Colonello was arrested (as Brittany Leann Marshall) Oct. 7 on a charge of felony possession of cocaine in Moore County. That case is also pending.
Records also show that Colonello is listed as the complainant in a Chatham County trespassing case.
Colonello was convicted in 2018 on six counts of misdemeanor larceny in Chatham County, according to records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
