CHESTERFIELD, S.C. — Nearly 25 hours after three bodies were found at a home south of Cheraw, the names of the victims have been released.

According to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Hailey Brown, 27-year-old Cordarius Foster and an unnamed 3-year old child were found shot to death at 3021 Society Hill Road, near the Darlington County line around midday Tuesday.

The child’s name is not being released due to state law, according to a press release issued Wednesday.

Investigators say there is no threat to the community “as it relates to this tragic situation.”

“At this point in the investigation, the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office is limited in what can be said,” the release stated. “Our agency is unable to discuss the specific details at this time. There is still a lot of work to be done with this investigation. When the time is appropriate, more information will be released.

“Sheriff Dixon asks that the public recognize that this is a very tragic situation. Please be mindful that this is a very difficult time for the family.”

The sheriff’s office says the investigation is "still very active.”
