Christmas on the Square returns to downtown Rockingham on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, filling Harrington Square with a full day of family-friendly fun, delicious food, and festive cheer.
A beloved tradition since 1995, this annual celebration takes place the first Saturday of December and continues to grow as one of Richmond County’s signature holiday events.
This year’s festival brings back all the crowd favorites — craft and commercial vendors, performances from local groups and organizations, music throughout the day, food trucks, and a visit from the big man himself. Santa Claus will be in front of Richmond Community Theatre throughout the day for pictures and visits.
Children will love the free Kids Zone, featuring bounce houses, an obstacle course, and a rock-climbing wall. Special guests include Sparky from the Rockingham Fire Department and Fat Cat, in addition to Santa with one of his elves.

Food vendors will serve up a wide variety of seasonal favorites, from barbecue and soul food to sweet treats and holiday goodies. Be sure to check out the Car, Truck & Bike Show, organized by Bruce Webb, located in the Truist Bank parking lot. Participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to support One Perfect Gift, an outreach effort led by local churches in partnership with Richmond County Schools.
Several community organizations will also be on-site with valuable information and demonstrations. Several local first responder agencies will be in attendance including Rockingham Police Department, Rockingham Fire Department, Northside Fire Department and Richmond County Rescue Squad. The Rockingham Lions Club Vision Van will offer free hearing and vision screenings. Arts Richmond will showcase Christmas-themed artwork, exhibits, and live paintings from local artists throughout the festival.
Join us Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as we kick off the holiday season in downtown Rockingham.
