1 - U.S. House Republicans spent the weekend preparing for action on another immigration bill, and efforts included consideration of adding expanded E-Verify and guest worker provisions. CNN

4 - The U.S. Senate is wasting no time getting down to business on its farm bill, following passage of the House farm bill last week. A procedural vote on the farm bill is scheduled for today. SFN Today

5 - Gov. Roy Cooper signed about 30 of the 75 bills on his desk into law on Friday, including a bill to move spring primary elections to March, from May. He has until today to sign the NC Farm Act, veto it, or let it become law without his signature. US News & World Report

8 - Mountaire Farms is readying to reopen its chicken processing plant in Siler City, and locals are hoping that means good news for the local economy. Durham Herald-Sun  

9 - U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and U.S. fisheries are looking at ways to reduce the seafood import deficit, as it’s just been reported that the U.S. imported a record 6 billion pounds of seafood, valued at more than $21.5 billion, in 2017. Associated Press
