ROCKINGHAM — Onequa Crump is bringing two dance-related events to Richmond County.

Crump, founder of Transcend 2 Transform Dance Fitness, is hosting a dance camp Aug. 11-15 at the Falling Creek gym in Rockingham, joined by fellow choreographer Stefa’n Thomas.

The free camp, which runs from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day, is being held in partnership with the Rockingham Housing Authority and will separate kids into two age groups: 7-11 and 12-17.

The campers will demonstrate what they learned during the Back to School Bash on Aug. 15. That event runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

T2T is also partnering with The Rock ‘n’ Roll skating rink — which just opened this week — on Aug. 17 for a Dance-a-thon starting at 6 p.m. and going until the last person is left dancing.

The contest is a fundraiser for T2T and dancers can either sponsor themselves or be sponsored by a business.

All proceeds will go to help T2T in its mission to offer free dance fitness across the state one community at a time.

Crump has previously hosted a dance fitness class and line dance lessons at Cole Auditorium.
