DAR honors Webb with Women in American History Award

ELLERBE — The General Henry William Harrington Chapter, NSDAR proudly awarded Olivia Webb with the prestigious NSDAR Women in American History Certificate and Medal at their May 8, 2025 meeting.

This national recognition celebrates the vital role of women in shaping American history, both past and present.

Webb, a distinguished public servant, made history as Ellerbe’s first female and youngest mayor, serving from December 2009 to 2012. During her tenure, she led crucial community initiatives, including upgrades to the town’s sewage system.

Her dedication to public service extended beyond local government, as she served as executive director of the Richmond Community College Foundation, spearheading efforts to support educational programs. Additionally, Webb played an active role in organizations such as the Ellerbe Lions Club and the Friends of the Ellerbe Library Board, further demonstrating her commitment to community development.
