CORDOVA — Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their search for a woman who has been missing nearly 48 hours.
The sheriff’s office posted to social media late Friday night that 78-year-old Linda McCuiston had been reported missing.
At that time, she was last seen around 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 in the Meadowood area.
On Sunday, RCSO posted that had been seen in her yard on Country Canyon Drive between 6:20 and 6:30 p.m.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies and search and rescue teams searched the wooded areas around the neighborhood on Sunday. Drones were also used to search from the air.
McCuiston was reportedly wearing black pants and a black shirt, and investigators say she suffers from cognitive issues.
The sheriff’s office says a Silver Alert has been issued, however the N.C. Center for Missing Persons has yet to post anything about the case.
Anyone living in the area is encouraged to check their property, especially outbuildings, and to check their home security video for any clues as to where McCuiston may have gone.
Anyone who may have seen McCuiston is urged to call 911.
