Donor promises to match donations up to $57k to fight human trafficking

PINEHURST — A generous donor has stepped forward with a powerful challenge for the community.

Changing Destinies Ministry has received a $57,000 matching gift pledge, and the goal is to raise that same amount in 90 days. Every dollar donated during this time will be doubled, giving supporters the chance to make twice the impact in the fight against human trafficking.

This campaign comes at a critical time for North Carolina, which continues to rank among the top states for reported cases of human trafficking.

Funds raised through this match will directly support Rachel’s Refuge, the ministry’s Christ-centered residential program for survivors. These resources will provide safe housing, trauma-informed care, vocational support, and long-term recovery services for women who are rebuilding their lives.

“Your support provides more than shelter,” said Kim L., communications director at Changing Destinies Ministry. “It creates space for healing, restores dignity, and opens the door to lasting freedom. As an all-volunteer ministry, we depend on the generosity of others to continue this life-changing work.”

In addition to residential care, Changing Destinies Ministry delivers prevention education across North Carolina to help protect the community. The matching gift campaign will allow the ministry to strengthen its programs and expand its reach to more survivors in need.

How to Donate

Donations can be made at changingdestiniesministry.org/match/. Every gift given within the next 90 days will be matched, up to $57,000.

Together, we can make a lasting impact and give twice the hope to survivors of human trafficking.
