CORDOVA — Earl Junior DeBerry, 73, of Cordova, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Duke Hospital, Durham.
He was born Aug. 12, 1947 in Norman, son of James Everett “Buck” Maloch and Louise DeBerry Maloch.
He was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church and loved his church family. He loved and was so proud of his three girls and his grandchildren. He severed several years with the Cordova Fire Department. His favorite place to visit was Pigeon Forge.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Fannie Lois Freeman DeBerry; daughters, Brenda Wallace of Cordova, Bobbie Knight (Dump) of Pinebluff and Wanda Halliburton of Lexington, South Carolina; three grandsons, Devon Wallace of Hamlet, Clyde Smith III of Cordova and Jonathan Smith of Holden Beach; three great-grandchildren, Eli Earl Smith, Addison Smith and Kinley Smith; sisters, Kady Prevatte of Greensboro and Minnie Boyte (Ken) of Harrisburg; and nieces, LeFran Cole of Greensboro and Renee Goodman of Harrisburg.
