ROCKINGHAM — A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving into property and running from deputies.

According to a pair of magistrate’s orders, 27-year-old Solomon Garcia, of East Rockingham, drove a vehicle into a 2019 Nissan Sentra and a 2015 Honda Accord — both occupied — and also damaged one woman’s house and another’s fence on Saturday, Jan. 17.

Garcia also allegedly led a deputy on a low-speed chase — 30 mph in a 35 mph zone — later fleeing on foot from four deputies and fighting them.

He was arrested and charged with 11 misdemeanors: two counts each of assault with a deadly weapon, injury to real property and injury to person property; four counts of resisting a public officer; and one count of fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle.

Garcia was booked into the Richmond County Jail where he is being held on a $40,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 12.

Online records appear to show Garcia has no other pending charges or prior convictions in the state.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
