ROCKINGHAM — Investigators have charged a woman — who has pending charges in two neighboring counties — with a trio of felonies for allegedly stealing more than $1,100 in merchandise from a local retail store.
According to an arrest warrant issued Jan. 12 to the Rockingham Police Department, Cornesha Aryanna Johnson, 29, of East Rockingham, stole items from Walmart valued at $1,126.45 on Nov. 15, 2025.
Items listed in the warrant include: KitchenAid mixers; Lego sets; men’s clothing; a gift bag; gift paper; “and other merchandise.”
Johnson is also accused of removing the anti-theft device from the mixers.
She was arrested Jan. 21 and charged with one count each of: felony larceny; possession of stolen goods or property; and larceny by removing, destroying or deactivating a component for anti-theft.
Johnson was booked into the Richmond County Jail on a $2,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 29.
Online court records show Johnson has the following pending charges from Dec. 11, 2025 in Moore County: felony larceny; possession of stolen goods or property; larceny by removing, destroying or deactivating a component for anti-theft; second-degree trespassing; driving while license revoked; having a fictitious or altered title, registration card or tag; and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.
In that case, she is accused of stealing a KitchenAid mixer, Lego sets, a space heater, portable microphones and a scooter — a total combined value of $1,149.63 — from the Walmart in Aberdeen.
The day after being charged in Moore County, Johnson was charged with misdemeanor larceny and second-degree trespassing in Scotland County for allegedly stealing an electric scooter from the Walmart in Laurinburg. Those charges are also pending.
Records show Johnson also has a pending bond forfeiture case.
While records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show no prior convictions, court records show Johnson was found guilty in August of assault and battery.
A late 2024 charge of second-degree trespassing was dismissed with leave —which means it could be refiled — in March 2025 after Johnson reportedly failed to appear in court.
Court records also show she was convicted of shoplifting in 2023.
Records appear to show Johnson has had three addresses within the past year.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
