ROCKINGHAM — Elsbeth Piwonski Pankey, 86, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Hospice Haven.
Mrs. Pankey was born May 8, 1934 in Darmstadt, Germany, a daughter of the late Joseph and Dina Kyle Piwonski. She had been employed with Gaddy’s, Clark Equipment Company and Owens Illinois. She was also a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Daniel Pankey Jr.; a son, Paul D. Pankey; and a grandson, Robby Pankey.
Surviving are her children, Danny Pankey (Vernon), Jenny Lovin (Mike), Barbara Poston and Paul Pankey Jr. (Brittany); seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Richmond County Memorial Park with James Dockery officiating. Please remember to wear masks and use social distancing.
