ROCKINGHAM — Plaza Jam, the city’s long-running concert series, heats up this Thursday with its first installment of the year with the Entertainers.

The band, which formed in 1980, has lived up to its name, entertaining audiences across the Carolinas for four decades. A song from their first year, “Living for the Summer,” became a regional, according to the band’s website.

Their song “Thank Goodness She Cheated,” from the 2009 album “The Inside Story” became a No. 1 hit for the band.

The Entertainers were inducted into the Carolina Beach Music Association Hall of Fame in 2000.

The band’s set list includes original beach tunes, as well as R&B and Top 40 covers ranging from the Embers to the Temptations to Delbert McClinton to Justin Timberlake.

The Entertainers previously came to Rockingham in 2022 and 2023.

All concerts are free and open to the public and held from 6:30-8:30 on the first Thursday of each month from May-October.

  • July 3 - The Tones
  • Aug. 7 - Chocolate Chip and Company
