Hamlet Depot Ghost Tour

HAMLET - The 3rd annual Hamlet Depot Ghost Tour is just around the corner. This year the ghost tour will take place the weekend before the Seaboard Festival. The tours will be held on Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th.

Pee Dee Region Paranormal, a team located in Richmond County, will be hosting the tour. The members of this particular paranormal group have 20+ years of experience in paranormal research. More information about who they are and what they have done can be found on Facebook and YouTube.

The team will be using many different types of equipment (e.g., mini-portal by Steve Huff; SLS Kinect Cam; DVR cams; a “Spirit Box”; digital recorders full spectrum night vision hand-held cameras; a “Mel Meter”; EMF meters; K2 meters; and, of course, flashlights) during the tour.

“We are so excited to be a part of this year’s Ghost Tour! We would like to use some old railroad memorabilia as trigger objects as well,” stated Pee Dee Region Paranormal Group member Robert Humphries.

The investigators and a museum tour guide will lead the groups through the Depot, Tornado building, and, new this year, we will also be including the caboose! The investigation team will also give the tour groups a chance to learn about (and actually use) their special equipment.

Last year the tour groups had a lot of paranormal experiences.  Flashlights flicked on and off, as if answering questions being asked, and voice phenomena were recorded. Tour guests this year are encouraged to download hunting apps and take a lot of pictures. Sharing any findings with the museum is encouraged.

Each tour will feature historical elements as well. The tour guides will discuss the history of the buildings as well as the artifacts present.

Souvenirs will be available for patrons to purchase during the event.

This was a popular event for the city the past two years, with tickets selling out in just a few days.  Tickets are on sale through ticketleap.com and are $20 per person.
