Hamlet Police:  At-Large Individual Wanted on Charge of Attempted Murder; Arrest Made for Manufacturing Weapons of Mass Destruction

HAMLET - The Hamlet Police Department is actively searching for Thomas Terry III subsequent to the serious wounding of an individual on Saturday, June 2nd.  At approximately 6:00 p.m. on that date, HPD responded to a “shots fired” call on Washington Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers found a black male victim being assisted into a vehicle for transportation to the hospital.  The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was subsequently transferred to another undisclosed medical facility in “serious” condition.

Investigation led to the filing of attempted first degree murder charges against Terry who remains at-large at this time.  Anyone with any information as to Terry’s whereabouts is asked to call HPD at 910-582-2551 or Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454.

Other police activity in Hamlet entailed the arrest of a Laurel Hill man on a charge of manufacturing weapons of mass destruction.  Randall Allan Lee, 47, of 14880 Matthews Street was arrested without incident at 102 Endo Lane in Hamlet at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Friday, June 8th.  A warrant had been issued by the Person County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, June 5th subsequent to the detonation of weapons of mass destruction in and/or near Roxboro.

Lee was processed into the Richmond County Jail to await transfer to Person County under a secured bond of $310,000.  He is schedule to appear in Person County District Court on Thursday, July 19th.
