HAMLET — A woman was arrested Monday on a pair of warrants stemming from alleged crimes in August.

Brittany Arielle Cephas, 30, of Page Street in Hamlet, is accused of breaking into a Spring Street home on Aug. 5 and stealing $10,000.

The warrant for her arrest, taken out by the Hamlet Police Department, was issued Sept. 4.

In an Aug. 10 warrant, taken out by the alleged victim, Cephas is alleged to have threatened to cut a man and broken a window, causing in excess of $200 in damage.

Cephas is charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering — both felonies —  in the Aug. 5 case, and communicating threats and injury to personal property in the Aug. 10 case.

She is being held in the Richmond County Jail under a combined $11,000 secured bond. Records show Cephas also has a separate $2,000 secured bond for failure to appear on a misdemeanor.

Online court records show Cephas has a pending charge of misdemeanor larceny, with a Jan. 30 court date.

She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 9 on the felonies and Jan. 24 on the other misdemeanors.

Cephas was convicted in 2008 on a drug paraphernalia charge, according to records with the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
