Honeycutt lands top speed in Black's Tire 200 practice at the Rock

ROCKINGHAM — Kaden Honeycutt had the top speed during practice Friday ahead of the Black’s Tire 200 at Rockingham Speedway.

With 35 laps around the near-mile oval, Honeycutt topped out at 148.583 mph.

During the NASCAR organizational test in 2025, Honeycutt had the second-fastest lap at 164.047 mph in 22.318. He finished 6th at last year’s truck race at the Rock.

Honeycutt has four top 10 finishes in five races this season, including coming in 4th at the last race in Darlington Motor Speedway.

2025 Craftsman Truck Series champ Corey Heim, fresh off of Darlington win, had the second-best speed Friday morning at 147.373 mph.

Rounding out the five fastest during practice were Andres Perez De Lara, Chandler Smith and Giovanni Ruggiero.

Tyler Ankrum, winner of the 2025 Black’s Tire 200, had the 13th fastest time.

Actor-turned-driver Frankie Muniz  was at the back of the pack, with a best speed of 143.478 mph.

The Black’s Tire 200, the first race of a triple-header weekend at the Rock, is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
