“BUCKETS” WITH JAMYIA LINDSEY

After a 39-point performance against Union Pines on Feb. 4, Lindsey and the Lady Raiders won their final four regular season games to finish in a tie with the Lady Vikings for first place.

Richmond and Union Pines were named SAC co-champs, the third time in four seasons that the Lady Raiders have either split the conference crown or won it outright.

Celebrating senior night against Southern Lee last Monday, Lindsey scored a game-high 25 points as part of a 71-11 running-clock win. It marked the 12th time this season she scored at least that many points.

Richmond rolled to a 44-31 non-conference victory Wednesday at Pine Forest High School, which resulted in 16 points for Lindsey.

The week and the regular season ended Friday on the road at Scotland High School. The Lady Raiders sealed the deal 60-38 as Lindsey led the team in scoring with 24 points.

Following that performance, Lindsey pulled her career scoring total to 1,964 points, leaving her 36 points shy of eclipsing the 2K point threshold.

In 23 games this season, Lindsey is averaging 23.8 points per game, which is second-best in the SAC. She’s ranked the third-highest scorer in the 4A East.

No. 1 Richmond (18-5) will host the winner of No. 4 Scotland and No. 5 Lee County in the semifinal round of the SAC championship tournament Tuesday at 6 p.m.
