ROCKINGHAM — The threat of wet weather has again rearranged the scheduling of Richmond Senior sports.

The junior varsity football home game between Richmond and Scotland has been moved to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Raider Stadium.

Athletic Director James Johnson said discussions are still ongoing regarding the soccer games scheduled for Thursday and the varsity football game at Pate Stadium on Friday.

The National Weather Service is calling for a 30% chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday evening, a 60% chance of showers and storms Thursday evening, and an 80% chance of showers and the possibility of storms on Friday.

Wednesday will be the first game for the JV Raiders, following last week’s varsity game that was moved to Thursday because of rain. Johnson said the JV game against Hoggard has not yet been rescheduled.

The soccer teams are currently scheduled to play at Terry Sanford Wednesday and host Union Pines on Thursday.

Both landed wins Monday evening at home against Scotland: 5-0 for JV; 3-0 for varsity.

The volleyball teams are on the road this week, with a match Tuesday at Mount Tabor and Wednesday at Scotland.
