SANFORD — The Richmond Senior High School junior varsity girls’ basketball team entered the win column Tuesday.

Playing their second game of the season, and returning to the court for the first time since Nov. 22, the JV Lady Raiders earned a road victory at Southern Lee High School.

Richmond defeated the JV Lady Cavaliers 46-31 in the early-season non-conference game.

Having a big game in the scoring column with almost half of Richmond’s points was freshman Emani Ingram, who scored a game-high 21 points. She scored 10 field goals and had a free throw.

Two other players — sophomores Amonie McNeil and Erin Drumwright — scored double digits. McNeil had 12 points on five field goals and two foul shots, while Drumwright had 11 points on three baskets, two free throws and a triple.

Rounding out the scoring was freshman Aubree Brewington, who ended the game with two points.

“We played great defense tonight,” head coach Tonia Breeden said. “Offensively we did well with moving without the ball, but still missed too many layups and free throws.

“E-Man had a great game,” she added. “Overall, I'm pleased. We just need to work on the little things moving forward.”

The JV Lady Raiders (1-1) will play at non-conference Purnell Swett High School Thursday. Action will start at 4:30 p.m.
