Lady Raiders Indoor Track Team Preps for Regionals with Forth-Place Finish

FAYETTEVILLE – The Richmond Senior High School Lady Raiders indoor track team placed fourth in a 17-team meet this past Saturday at Reid Ross High School.

According to head coach Reggie Miller, Monasia Kearns came in first in the 55-meter dash, meanwhile, Maddisyn Diggs tied for second in the same race.

The 4x2 relay team of Kearns, Diggs, Harmony Jones and Dymond McNeal finished first, as well, and the 4x4 relay team placed fourth overall. In other individual events, Kibreanna Stewart came in third in the high jump, and Crystal Johnson finished third in the high jump event.

Rounding out the finishes, Diggs also placed fifth in the 300-meter run.

With only one regular season invitational left on the calendar, Miller said improvement is key heading into qualifying times for state.

"We are just trying to continue to work hard in practice," said Miller. "And improve each track meet."

The Lady Raiders’ last invitational will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, at Cuthberson High School in Waxhaw, which is located in Union County.
