ROCKINGHAM — Lena Smith Penny, 65, of Rockingham passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 at Richmond Co. Hospice.
She was born Feb. 11, 1956 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Wendell and Virginia King Smith.
Lena worked as a waitress for many years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlena G. Wilkerson, in 2020.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at noon at Green Lake United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Butler officiating.
Surviving, her husband, John Penny of Rockingham; stepsons, Richie Penny of Alabama, Chris Penny of Kentucky and Andrew Penny of Tennessee; grandchildren, Hunter Owen Caulder, Jayden Bass and Mariah Wilkerson, all of Rockingham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
