ROCKINGHAM — Less than two weeks remain until the next group of Richmond Raider greats is inducted into the Raider Athletic Hall of Fame.
Richmond Senior High School released a link for public ticket sales earlier this week for the May 12 affair.
The Raider Athletic Hall of Fame will induct a dozen members in the Class of 2025, which is the second class since its inception two years ago.
Eight of the inductees are former student-athletes — Summer Burgess, Charlie Davis, Dannell Ellerbe, Chuck McLean, Pamela Morrison, Michael Waddell, Nikki Wells Smith and Perry Williams.
Charlie Bishop and Wayne Williams will be inducted as coaches, and Charlie Brownley and Bunny Lee Wall will be recognized as legacy members.
The gala will be held at Cole Auditorium on the campus of Richmond Community College and begin at 7 p.m. Individual tickets are $40 per person and include admittance and dinner.
Athletic director James Johnson said local restaurant Seaboard Station will be catering the event. He also said seats are limited.
In a Facebook post, the Raider Athletics page wrote “Celebrate our legendary athletes, coaches and contributors – and support the future of Raider Athletics – by purchasing your tickets today.
“Don’t wait – seats are limited, and you won’t want to miss an evening honoring our community’s finest.”
