ELLERBE — Linda Faye Cowart Martin, 73, of Ellerbe, went to be with her Lord Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 at FirstHealth Richmond, Rockingham.
She was born in Alexander County on Oct. 19, 1947, daughter of Foy Cowart and Ruby Fordham Cowart.
Linda was retired from Hamlet Federal Credit Union and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Ellerbe. She had strong Christian beliefs and a tremendous love for the Lord. She loved her family and her grandkids that lovingly called her MeMaw! She will be missed!
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bobbie Cowart; and a brother, Carl Cowart.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John W. Martin Jr. of the home; sons, Allen Martin (Cindy) of Rockingham and Shannon Martin (Mandy) of Hamlet; brother, Robert Cowart of Stony Point; grandchildren, A.J. Martin (Kaitlyn Daniel), Conner Martin and Annaston Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 138 Wallace Road, Ellerbe, on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 from 1-2 p.m.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Tommy Preslar officiating.
