ROCKINGHAM — A man is facing charges from two law enforcement agencies for allegedly assaulting two women.
Michael Kevin Allen, 46, is accused of assaulting a woman on Jan. 21, hitting her in the face and body and stabbing her in the back of the left leg.
According to a magistrate’s order, Allen is a former cohabitant with the victim, although he is listed as being homeless.
Court records show the Hamlet Police Department had an outstanding warrant for Allen’s arrest, stemming from an incident on Nov. 7, 2024, when he allegedly broke into a home on Main Street, hit a female victim in the face and stole her cellphone.
That warrant shows Allen with an address on Entwistle Street in Hamlet.
Allen was arrested Jan. 22 and booked into the Richmond County Jail on charges of: assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office; and breaking and entering to terrorize or injure, larceny after breaking and entering, and assault on a female from the Hamlet Police Department.
He is being held on a combined $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 3.

In 2000, Allen was convicted on two counts of misdemeanor breaking and entering, and one misdemeanor count each of larceny, injury to personal property, assault on a female and resisting a public officer.
