ROCKINGHAM — A man with a criminal history dating back more than 20 years is facing new charges in two counties.

One warrant, issued Aug. 24 to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, alleges that 39-year-old Donald Eugene Lampley trespassed on a property on Old Charlotte Highway that day.

Lampley is also accused of stealing a washer, dryer, bike and edger — altogether valued at $1,170.

Lampley was arrested the same day and charged with one count each of felony larceny and misdemeanor second-degree trespassing.

Records show Lampley was also served with an outstanding warrant out of Union County, issued July 19, charging him with misdemeanor larceny and possession of stolen goods or property.

Lampley was booked into the Richmond County Jail where he is being held on a combined $3,000 secured bond. His first appearance was Aug. 25 and his next court date is scheduled for Sept. 9.

The Richmond County warrant lists Lampley as being homeless, while Union County records show an address on Gardenia Street in the Rockingham area.
