CHARLOTTE - 9th District congressional candidate Mark Harris welcomed House Majority Whip Steve Scalise to Charlotte for a fundraiser hosted by Lending Tree CEO, Doug Lebda.
Scalise told the crowd at the event, “We need people like Mark Harris in Washington. Mark will help us pass much needed healthcare reform and continue to strengthen our military. I support him 100%.”
"Congressman Scalise has overcome so much in the past year and has made a remarkable comeback from a near tragic shooting. He agrees that he is here today because he is a fighter and mostly because of the prayers of people across the nation including many of us in the 9th district. I look forward to working with conservative leaders like Whip Scalise to advance conservative legislation that continues to grow our economy, secure our border, and address our nation’s ever increasing debt," stated Harris.
Harris was also endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business Federal Political Action Committee. He acknowledged this recognition by releasing the following statement:
Friends,
Our campaign continues to pick up momentum! The National Federation of Independent Businesses Federal Political Action Committee has endorsed me in this race for Congress in the 9th District.
The NFIB is often referred to as the voice of small business. They support candidates that will enact legislation that promotes business and entrepreneurship. In their release, they point out that this race is critical to small businesses in this district.
The NFIB recognized that I understand the needs and challenges small businesses face from overbearing regulations, crippling taxes, and skyrocketing healthcare costs. I also appreciate that small business is the backbone of our economy and will be an advocate for small businesses in Congress!
Thank you for your support,
Mark Harris
