ROCKINGHAM — A little more than a month since taking on a new role, Richmond Senior High School’s head cheerleading coach is excited to get things started.
Cassie Tyler was named the Raiders’ head coach in February and has already set up the program’s first development workout.
Open to rising sixth through 12th graders in Richmond County for the 2025-26 school year, a one-day skills clinic will be held at the high school Thursday, April 3. The cost per cheerleader is $20.
The clinic, which Tyler commented is an opportunity to “work on your skills and prepare for tryouts,” will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Raider Gymnasium.
Richmond, along with Richmond County Schools’ four middle school cheerleading programs, hold tryouts for the upcoming school year during the spring.
“This clinic is a great way to sharpen your skills,” Tyler said. “And while it is not required for tryouts, we promise a fun afternoon of learning. We look forward to seeing you all there.”
