MIDNIGHT MADNESS: Raiders practice at night ahead of 2026 season

Posted

ROCKINGHAM — As football season draws near, members of the Richmond Senior High School varsity and junior varsity squads hit the field at Raider Stadium Wednesday for a late-night practice.

Players were divided up by position to run through drills to strengthen their skills in passing, catching, tackling and kicking during Midnight Madness.

The Raiders have another week of practice before hosting a scrimmage on Aug. 7, followed by an away scrimmage on Aug. 14.

The first official varsity game is scheduled for Aug. 21, when the Raiders face the Hoggard Vikings at home. The JV team will travel to Hoggard Aug. 20.

This will be head coach Brad Denson’s third year at the helm.
