ROCKINGHAM — More than 1,000 Duke Energy customers are without power in Richmond County.
The outages came after a pair of strong storms moved through the area.
According to Duke’s Outage Viewer, there are 20 outages affecting 1,049 customers, mostly in the Rockingham area.
As of 4:10 p.m., Duke was reporting 7,172 customers without power across the Carolinas, most of them in North Carolina.
There are more than 5,000 without power in Wake and Johnston counties combined.
The estimated time of restoration was initially listed as 8:45 p.m., but was later updated to 9 p.m.
Pee Dee Electric doesn’t appear to have any outages.
