ROCKINGHAM — Richmond County residents wanting tickets to the upcoming Easter weekend NASCAR event at Rockingham Speedway now have a local, in-person option to buy them.
The speedway and promoter Track Enterprises announced Sunday that tickets are available for purchase at the Water Department of Rockingham City Hall, 514 Rockingham Road.
Tickets can be purchased via cash or card payments from 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, or 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.
“The city is pleased to work with Track Enterprises and NASCAR to provide a local point of sale location to allow local race fans a convenient opportunity to purchase tickets here in the community,” City Manager Monty Crump told the RO on Monday.
The three-race event — featuring NASCAR’s Craftsman Truck and Xfinity series and the ARCA Menards Series East — marks the first major racing event at the historic track in more than a decade.
The Black’s Tire 200 truck race is slated for Friday, April 18 and the N.C. Education Lottery Xfinity race is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, preceded by the ARCA race.
Kasey Kahne, runner-up in the 2004 Cup Series race and winner of the 2012 truck race announced Jan. 24 that he would be competing in the Xfinity race.
