Aleen Goodwin McKenzie, 88, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Richmond Pines Health & Rehab Center, Hamlet.
She was born March 8, 1937, daughter of the late Walker Carson Goodwin and Lizzie Mae Morrison Goodwin.
Aleen was very smart and worked hard all of her life, spending the majority of those working years in textiles. She was a faithful lady and a member of Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church, Rockingham. She loved attending church, preaching and listening to gospel music. She also enjoyed flowers and going to the beach. She will be dearly missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank McKenzie; grandson, Michael Sellers; brothers, Harold, Mitchell, Donald, Fred and Steve; and sisters, Lois Goodwin, Janice Goodwin and Linda Miles.
Aleen is survived by her daughter, Teresa Gail Parks (George) of Rockingham; granddaughter, Cynthia Sellers of Rockingham; great-granddaughter, Sarah Sellers; stepchildren, Pam Hammond (Tony) of Aynor, South Carolina, Chris McKenzie (Heather) and Rusty McKenzie, both of Dillon, South Carolina; and numerous step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 3-4 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.
The funeral service will begin, immediately following visitation, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Childers officiating. Burial will be held private.
