Anne Martin Edwards, 68, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 22, 1956 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late William Garrett and Catherine Elaine Currie Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Edwards; parental grandmother, Eva Currie; aunts Mirian Currie Meekins and B.J. Currie Wheeler; and a sister-in-law, Carrol Edwards.
Anne worked for many years with Thomas Realty and then went to work for Pee Dee Electric, retiring as the member service rep. She also worked for the NASCAR Winston Cup Series for several years.
Anne was a longtime member of the Rockingham Rotary Club, a board member at Richmond County Chamber of Commerce and a member of Rockingham City Council. She enjoyed the beach, her Sandhill Shag Club and was very involved with her children’s and grandchildren’s activities as they were growing up.
A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 4 p.m. at Roberdel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Surviving, her children, Chris Edwards (Brandi) and Jessica Edwards Davis (William); grandchildren, Skylar LeBerth (Zach), Gage Edwards, Luke Davis and Eva Laine Davis; a sister, Kay Boyd; brothers-in-law, Randy Edwards and Dean Edwards (Gloria); two nephews, Tim Boyd and Garrett Boyd, and a niece, Lisa Morgan; many cousins she loved dearly; and her caregivers, Helen Baldwin, Faye Barton and all the others that helped during her illness.
The family will receive friends at other times at Anne’s home 523 Anson Ave., Rockingham.
