Annie Rhyne McCaskill, 95, of Ellerbe, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at her home. Annie is a daughter of the late Charles and Ether Rhyne.
She was born Dec. 31, 1929, in, Richmond County, North Carolina. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Frank “Junior” McCaskill; as well as her brothers, Ramer, Norman and James Rhyne and sister, Mary Rhyne Vuncannon.
Annie was a special soul. She was a devoted homemaker and always loved to care for children, especially her two boys whom she loved very dearly. Annie was faithfully devoted to her husband, Junior, and was always a radiant example of a Godly Christian wife. Annie loved her home and would quite often fill the house with the smell of her wonderful cooking. A cup of coffee and birdwatching would occupy Annie’s spare time.
Most of all, she loved her church, her church family, and being a servant for her Lord and Savior. She was a light of love and hope to all she met, and truly reflected the light of God. Annie was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to so many, and she will be dearly missed.
Annie is survived by her sons, Robert McCaskill and Jerry McCaskill (Brenda); grandchildren, Stacy McCaskill-Lilja (Kai), Adam McCaskill (Laura) and Joseph McCaskill; and great-grandchildren: Annika, Henri, Hanna and Sinni-Lilja.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at McLean Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Smith and the Rev. Don Rhyne officiating. Burial will follow at Ellerbe Cemetery.
