Athos Darrell Richardson, 65, of Ellerbe, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2024 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
He was born Aug. 27, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Athos Lee Richardson and Johnsie Deese Richardson.
Darrell worked as a professional painter most of his working years. He was excellent at his job and enjoyed it, and was also a great artist. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer. Darrell also found enjoyment in restoring tractors, trucks and boats.
Darrell was full of life and believed in living life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Hughes.
Darrell is survived by his siblings, Dale Richardson (Libby) of Ellerbe, Cynthia O’Brien (Thomas) and Michelle Hester (Dennis), both of Rockingham; significant other, Ruth Tilly of Ellerbe; and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately by the family.
