OBITUARY: Betty Jean Beachum Goss

Posted

Our prayer warrior, mother and friend with a love of Jesus, a sweet spirit and gentle soul, Betty Jean Beachum Goss, was lovingly encircled by her family when her Father, Lord and Savior called her home at 86 years young on Nov. 24, 2024.

Born in Anson County on April 11, 1938, the daughter of B.H. Beachum and Beatrice Mae Meachum.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey H. Moss Sr. and wife Brenda Cocchio-Moss; grandson Jeffrey and Lyndsey Moss Jr.; three loved great-grandchildren, Kensley and twin boys, Jensen and Nelson; her daughter, Sherri (Brian) Taylor, and grandson Reece Taylor; sisters, Barbara Carver, Rebecca (Gerald) Gulden and Betty Dianne (Randy) Tarlton; brothers B.H.Beachum Jr. survived by wife Barbara, Gerald and Joyce Beachum, Ralph and Janet Collins, and Ray Collins survived by his wife Louise.

In 1978, God blessed Betty Jean with her precious “Jewel” when she married her beloved Tommy James Goss. Eleven years of love, laughter, boating, and fishing with family and friends before God called Tommy home on Christmas Day. Her light continued to shine within, even through her many health battles she gave the glory to God. She was always ready to save souls, and standing in the gap she knew was her calling. Be not saddened by her absence, as her legacy lives on in our hearts.

“To be absent from the body is to be home with the Lord “
