Betty Knight McQueen, 78, of Hamlet, passed away surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025.
Betty was born Oct. 7, 1946, to the late Alton and Flossie Knight.
Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Celena McQueen Harris.
Betty is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Joseph McQueen; grandchildren Karleigh Walker and Glen Allen Harris; and a great-granddaughter, Alena Harris.
Betty was a beloved woman to many who kept to herself. She worked for the state’s highway construction for many years as a secretary and she loved horses. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet, Saturday Aug. 16th, 2025, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Jeff Collins from Nebo Wesleyan Church will officiate the service. Burial will proceed at Nebo Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
