Betty Sue Greene Richardson, 94, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Hamlet, died on her birthday, Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Grand Strand Regional Hospital.
Betty was one of three daughters of the late Flavy and Everett Goodwyn, a member of Hamlet Calvary Baptist Church, and graduate of Hamlet High School.
Her career in banking began in 1968 at Peoples Bank in Myrtle Beach, and she later attended the School of Banking in Chapel Hill and was employed with BB&T until retirement.
Betty is survived by her son, Eddie Richardson and wife, Helen, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her daughter, Debbie Evans and husband, Doug, of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, William “Richie” Richardson and wife, Tonya, of Myrtle Beach, and Brandi Francia and husband, Al, of Apex; and two great-grandchildren, Daniel Richardson and Delaney Francia.
Betty was predeceased by sisters Linda Goodwyn Eller and Peggy Caddell.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 with visitation from 2-3 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet. The service will follow visitation at 3 p.m.
